Not announced yet
As of October 20, 2026 we could not find official statements on these, so we don't guess:
- Target resolution and frame rate.

- Whether collectible totals (Pieces of Heart, Gold Skulltulas) change.
- A public playable demo.
FAQ
Is Ocarina of Time on Switch 2 a remake or a port?
A remake. Nintendo says the game was built from the ground up for Nintendo Switch 2, with completely overhauled visuals, voiced cutscenes, orchestral music and new controls. It is a separate product from the Nintendo 64 version offered through Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack.
Is the Ocarina of Time remake on the original Nintendo Switch?
No. Nintendo lists it as a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive. It has not been announced for the original Nintendo Switch.
Can I play Ocarina of Time on Switch 2 right now?
The original Nintendo 64 version is playable through Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. The remake launches November 5, 2026.
Does the Switch 2 remake use the microphone?
Yes. Nintendo says you can hum a song Link has learned, or play it on a real instrument, and the Nintendo Switch 2 microphone will pick it up so Link plays it in-game. Button input still works.
